Hacks, Cracks, and Patches

As we are all aware software company's release trial versions of software for evaluation. Problem being, these versions have either restrictions on what the software can do, or a time limit on how long you can utilize the software. Hacks, cracks and patches are created by programmers to overcome software 'trial periods', but the methods they use often vary dramatically.

The main types available are:

Patches / Cracks

These are often small files which alter the registry entry on your pc, or replace small files with files that prevent the 'trial' from working properly (ie. time limits are disabled).
It should be noted that these patches or cracks sometimes don't remove the screens saying that you have only 'XX days left' (referred to as nag screens). Don't despair! The patch / crack may still be working!!

Key Generators (keygens)

Key generators generate keys to your personal details, you may often find keygens that just provide you with a working key. Keygens are normally easy to use, and do not have the problem of nag screens.

To install Patches/ Cracks/ Or Keygens, do the following:

1. Download the file from our Software Search Engine

2. Unzip / unRAR the files and view the files. (zip and rar are methods of zipping files) WINRAR is available from our software section and is highly recommended.

You will find a number of files, depending on the solution the programmer has formulated.
LEFT click your mouse button on the .nfo file and OPEN WITH WORDPAD (Windows 98 users need to hold down the shift button before LEFT clicking the mouse, then choose OPEN WITH, then choose WORDPAD).

This will display specific instructions on how to run the patch and often the location of the trial software URL, for you to download the main software.
YOU MUST DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE MAIN* SOFTWARE BEFORE CONTINUING - DO NOT RUN THE SOFTWARE UNTIL THE PATCH HAS BEEN INSTALLED
*the main software is the trial version itself

3. Once you have read the instructions in the .nfo file, execute them!! You may find there is a .exe file or other files that you will need to run.

4. Export the un-zipped / un-RARed the files to the location you have installed the main software - it is often crucial that the patch is run from the main software folder, otherwise the crack can not run. If you are asked 'do you want to over write file name ......' click YES. Some patches will replace files originally installed on your PC to enable them to work.

5. Once the instructions have been fully exhausted, run the software, leaving the patch files installed, and bingo you should have a full version of the software!! (remember you may still have a nag screen)

(crack downloads will only supply the crack/ keygen, NOT the trial software as well - remember it is important to get the same crack/ keygen version as the software!)
